The idea that you can have a relationship with God outside of the religious system is controversial. What many people do not understand is that when you are in love with God, your love does not need to be tied to any one religion or philosophy. You are free to have your own beliefs and still be in love with God. You are free to hold any one of the many religions and still be in love with God.
